How to Select Right Laptop Hard Drive for My Laptop |

1. First, please try our Laptop Upgrade Guide to find correct hard drives by laptop brand and model #.
2. Second, try to use following info to find what type of hard drive your laptop uses, then select the correct type of replacement hard drives.
Laptop Hard Drive Selection Help:
Your laptop may use IDE (PATA) hard drive or SATA hard drive. If you can take out the hard drive from your laptop, you can identify the hard drive type by the hard drive connector. The pictures below show you what's difference of connectors between IDE hard drive(also call PATA) and SATA hard drive.
Some laptop hard drive (especially IDE PATA hard drive) may has added a special connector bar to the 44-Pin connector, which make it does not look like any of following picture, you need to remove that connector adapter bar to see the real hard drive connector, then you can identify what type of hard drive your laptop needs.

If your hard drive connector does not look like any of above connector, it may have a special connector adapter added to the hard drive. In this case, you need to remove the connector adapter, then you will see the 44-pin connector or SATA connector like above pictures. Here are two examples:
